It was Thomas’ 1st birthday party on the weekend and we all had so much fun. We had it in our backyard with friends and family. My sisters and their partners along with some of our dear friends from Melbourne also made the trip. It was just a perfect weekend. It was one of those weekends that made Andrew and I think about how lucky we are to have so many great and fun people in our lives. Nothing like a good ol’ party to bring out all the feels.
The standout of the day was Thomas’ birthday cake. It was the most incredible cake I have ever seen. Obviously it was of Toby and his Neckerchief since Toby is not only Thomas’ favourite thing in the whole wide world but also his best friend and brother. Toby has been such a big part of Thomas’ life and it only made sense to point this out by having a Toby cake. I just couldn’t get over how amazing it was and the fact that it actually looked like him. I’m still thinking about it every other minute.
Here are some photos from Thomas’ party:
^ Thomas’ gorgeous birthday invitations from here.
^ Toby in cake form by Megan from Dotchocolate. If you live in Adelaide and need a cake I cannot recommend Megan enough. Extremely gorgeous and affordable cakes. You can contact her via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or follow along on her Instagram page, @dotchocolate.
^ I didn’t actually want to cut the Toby cake and even said to Andrew, maybe we could just keep it in the freezer, forever.
^ We gave all our guests these party bags which were filled with a big chunk of rocky road. The bag and rocky road was also made by Dotchocolate.
^ Last minute cuddles before these 2 fly back to Melbourne. Just move here already.
^ The 3 things I miss the most about Melbourne.
^ Happy Birthday, Darling. Hope you enjoyed your first ever birthday party.
