I think it’s been over 30 degrees for the last 3 months and it’s been driving me crazy. That’s one thing I’m missing about Melbourne, the weather. It’s always changing, if one day is too hot just wait a few minutes and it’ll be cool again. I’m not a summer person, it’s OK for a week or two but then I want it to go away. I’m most motivated, inspired and productive when it’s cold and miserable outside and I’m rugged up.
This morning Andrew, Thomas, Toby and I went to grab a coffee before Andrew went to uni and the cold breeze and drizzle got me so excited. On our walk to coffee, I listed all the things I was going to get done today thanks to the weather. It’s now 3.30pm and I have completed them all! I’ve been struggling to keep up with all my jobs of late thanks to the hot, humid ruthless weather. Thankfully, hopefully, those days are gone.
Sorry to those people who are popping by and there isn’t anything new on the Blog. I have been so incredibly busy in the Neckerchief Factory that blogging has had to take a back seat. If there is anyone who would like to come help me in the Factory in exchange for cuddles with Toby, let me know 😉
Anyway, Toby and Thomas’ bond is growing so strongly over here. It’s seriously heart explosions every day. There will be times when Andrew and I are looking at both of them interacting with each other and they’ll do something and we’ll both gasp and say, ‘Oh my gosh, that is so sweet.’ I honestly believe Thomas sees Toby as one of us, a beloved family member. I can’t wait for the day Thomas tells people Toby is his brother. I’m in the middle of writing a blog post on how Toby and Thomas have gotten to this stage in their friendship.
Speaking of writing, I’ve started writing down all my ideas for a Children’s Book about Toby and Thomas. It has been something I have been thinking of doing for a few years now and thanks to this cooler weather I’m finally motivated to get the ball rolling. Thank you to everyone on Instagram who provided me with insight into how I can make this happen and to all those with encouraging words.
Oh, and the best thing about this cooler weather, coffee tastes so much better! Obviously I’m so excited to meet our baby but I’m also super excited not to be pregnant anymore so I can have more than 1 cup of coffee a day.
^ Morning rituals: Every morning when Thomas comes for cuddles in our bed, the first thing he does is play with the frames. Andrew always says to Thomas, ‘Good job you’re here because we needed someone to make sure all the frames are straight.’
^ Another morning ritual, coffee with children.
^ We have started going to the library every second week and Thomas loves pulling books off the shelves. The good ones he pulls off we take home and the ones that aren’t so good, we put back on the shelves.
^ Last year I did a post about reading with your baby (how young is little Thomas in that post!) and I’m planning on writing a post of how we are reading with a toddler.
^ We have been reading with Thomas since he was a baby and continue to do so every day. He loves books so much. He loves listening to them, interacting with them and playing with them.
^ Toby and Thomas love collecting pine cones together. Thomas always tries to give Toby the ones he finds.
^ This hat is way too small for Thomas but I can’t let go of it! Before I even wanted kids I found it in a car park and just loved it. It’s almost time to pass it on to his baby brother or sister.
^ Oh Toby, you have come so far. From not even wanting to be in the same room as Thomas when he was a baby to always needing to have some part of him on Thomas. It kills me.
