Life Hacks

Posted in: Family
IMG_5572

Life hacks, I love them. Since becoming a stay at home mum I have realised in order to stay on top of everything I need to be organised and have some strategies in place to make every day a little bit easier and for things to run just that little bit smoother. I have compiled a list of things that happen in the Wigglebottom household to make the days and weeks run as best as possible. Planning What the Week Will Look Like This is clearly the teacher in me coming out, but every Thursday I write up a timetable of what the following week will […]

At Home With Godfreys

Posted in: Family
Godfreys 2

We have been in our home for 2 years now. When we made the decision to buy we assumed it would take a while before we found the right one. However, Andrew found our home online in the first few weeks of looking. The second we stepped inside we wanted it straight away. We never thought we would get it and winning it at auction is one of my top 5 favourite memories of life so far. It’s a beautiful home that’s 100 years old, has lots of character and is in a suburb we love. We lucked out. The only issue […]

London

IMG_3092

I started writing this post while we were still in London. We’re home now and back into the routine that is life. Being back home, it feels like nothing ever happened, as if we were never in London. I don’t know about you but whenever I’m away travelling, it’s when I come home and reflect on where I was, I appreciate and love the experience a million times more. Anyway, below is the post I wrote while in beautiful London: So, all of us, excluding Toby, are in London at the moment for 2 months. This is Andrew’s final year of Med […]

Hi, Remember Me?

Posted in: Family
IMG_3818

Hello! It’s been a while. Towards the end of last year I was so busy in the Neckerchief Factory with Toby I had no time to blog. What I had a lot of time for was listening to podcast. As Toby likes to sew in silence, the podcasts filled the Factory with chatter. I listened to A LOT of them. I listened to many podcasts that made me stop and think. In particular, the topic of parents leaving online footprints for their kids without their permission. Every time I listened to one of these it made my heart feel heavy and […]

A Look Inside The Neckerchief Factory & Your Chance To Win a HP Printer

Posted in: Family

Toby and I have been insanely busy in the Neckerchief Factory, we are spending on average 5 hours a day in there! It’s cut, sew, pack, repeat. And once a day we run as fast as we can to the Post Office before it closes to drop off orders. When the kids are asleep, Toby and I start our shifts. The first shift usually starts around 11.30am to 2.00pm and the second at 8.00pm until we go to bed. Before the Christmas rush was upon us Toby and I gave the Factory a good clean out and organised items in […]

Goodbye Third Year

Posted in: Family
november-10th-november

The other day Andrew was cleaning the kitchen before uni and said, ‘I find cleaning the kitchen relaxing, that’s how stressful my life is at the moment.’ Uni full time, fitting in work on the weekends and evenings, working on a research project and having other issues to deal with on top of making time to spend with his children and studying every single day this year for his final exam – it’s been a hard year. On Saturday Andrew had his first exam, today he had his second and tomorrow is his last exam for his medical degree. We […]

Life Of Late Through My iPhone

Posted in: Family
img_1209

It’s been 7 weeks since little Felix has come home, is it just me or does time seem to go faster than normal when you have kids?! Anyway, this is what has been happening in those 7 weeks… ^ Everyone’s delirious! We are all sleeping a lot less, even Toby. We are probably drinking too much coffee and having ‘What is this crazy mess we’ve gotten ourselves into’ thoughts every other day.  ^ We have recently landscaped our backyard and can’t wait to enjoy it come Summer. At the moment these two are only allowed to play on the pavement […]

Happy Father’s Day!

Posted in: Family
IMG_9832

Today Andrew got to celebrate Father’s Day with his sons. Sons, pleural!! For those who don’t follow Toby on Instagram you may not know that a beautiful boy came into our lives 6 days ago (more about that in another post). When Andrew put Thomas down for the night he said, ‘That was a perfect Father’s Day, it had a bit of everything.’ Andrew’s perfect day is a bit different to mine but I’m pleased he had a great day, nonetheless. It started with opening presents and reading a book he got from Thomas to him. He then went to […]

Sharing Some Of Our Favourite Stories – An Update on Ghana

Posted in: Family
ripple1

When Andrew and I went to Ghana last year, it started a ripple effect, thanks to a little boy named Kwaku. There is no way we ever planned on making a difference to this extent. By us going there, it ignited something in people to help out too and because of people caring, lives have changed and it’s pretty mind blowing. The best way to demonstrate this ripple effect and how it has and continues to change lives, is through a timeline. It all started in 2012 -Andrew and I decide to travel to Africa, not for a holiday, rather […]

If You Don’t Have A Hobby In Life, Life Is Going To Get You Down

Posted in: Family
Toby in Poppy 2

My Mum used to always say to me I needed a hobby. Growing up I never had one. My dad desperately tried to push me into music but I just didn’t care for it. Mum hoped I would find a passion in arts and crafts and join her on the kitchen table in the evenings but that never happened either. And I gave up sport as a teenager, the one thing I used to actually enjoy. ‘If you don’t have a hobby in life, life is going to get you down,’ was my Mum’s mantra. She actually had a couple of sayings on high […]
